Piaskownica Challenges and PL for Amiche di scrap

I've been busy at Scrappy Camp....
so am uploading these little projects....

Firstly Piaskownica has a couple of challenges for my Quote Book I've been making for Hannah....

Its a little vintage German book (1911),

The first challenge is to use a book in some way...perfect!

Hannah is away studying Library Services... so thought to put a page together relative to that.

Sketched a makeshift template of a girl onto a piece of paper and cut it out,...put it on the page (same for the alpha) and painted blue over it..... pulled off the template and some of the alpha (plus wiped lightly over the remaining alpha to bring back the colour) to reveal the book print underneath....

Outlined in pen and used colourful washi tape as collars, belt, shoes and hair.

Love this colour combo, and thought while I was at it, to do another page in Hannah's book..

This time, I thought I'd go for a 'family' quote and this gorgeous quote by the children's movie
'Lilo and Stitch'  was a great fit .... What appeals is the word 'Ohana' - it does sound a bit like 'Oh Hannah' - how cute!   Plus it means 'family'.   Maybe inspiration also come from the colour picture in Piaskownica's example above??

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use a photo in multiple pockets....
Another week page done for Project Life...

Week 12
A week of dress rehearsal in the theatre

One photo in multiple pockets

All done for now...
will run off and scrap some more.....
(big grin)!

Counterfeit Kits NSD - Create a Rainbow...

NSD challenges have come to an end for Counterfeit Kits Challenge Blog, and its been great being creative with colour.   I 'almost' got them all done, just ran out of time and the deadline has arrived.

Here's my 'Rainbow' challenge LO.....(set by LesleyG)

The stripes were created with a paintbrush dipped in these bottles of spray (except the Izink which a droplet was mixed with water to thin it).....then painted on the white cardstock and trimmed with 'filmstrip' washi tape

(Ha LizzyH, I'm sure you are on pinwheel sequin overload here!!!)

Having a wonderful time at scrappy camp...one night down and two to go!
Lots of deliberation, laughter and too much food!

-------------------------------------------------------------

I think my camera is 'broke' - doesn't matter what I do with it, its just failing... probably time for a new one, and its been overworked.... sigh.... please excuse it.....

Anyway, on a good note.... I'm off to scrappy camp tomorrow night after work for 3 nights :)

So, I'm going to get off this computer and pack my stash all ready to go

Hopefully my internet will work there and I can upload a few challenges I've got my eye on
(very big grin!)

Counterfeit Kit Gemma's NSD Challenge

Gemma's recipe challenge  is to make a palette from the following ingredients: feature BLACK and/or WHITE (or mix them to make GREY) along with shades of ONE other COLOUR.

So had a bit of Harry Potter fun here creating a scenario.....
Colour is blue.... with black/grey alphas, stamping/inking etc....

Paper dvizhnik Challenge #41 Symmetry

Paperdvizhnik's Symmetry Challenge is just that - quite a challenge!
Cutting a diecut 12x12 down and in half, edged in lace on background cardstock worked a treat for the symmetry part....
It is a great challenge though,  having some fun using a couple of our Downton Abbey tour
photos....  The beauty of scrapbooking is that we get to re-live those moments again as we create.... No need to tell any of you that!!  Preaching to the converted! LOL

The window is the curved front window of the Crawley House that we Downton fans recognise (big smile). The real truth is, its a private residence and only the exterior of the house is used in the TV series.  The interior is fictional, created and filmed in the London studio.   SO, like 'paparazzi' Paige lifted her camera high above the wall to take a photo. (In true scrapbooking style - with much encouragement from me.... she's much taller!)

You can find the symmetry challenge

Scrap 365 Sketch....

Have you ever strolled a beach and picked up a piece of china or porcelain?
Where I live, if you are lucky enough... the sea gives up some of these little treasures with their broken edges smoothed with the tumbling of the tides over time...
If only these pieces could speak...

The sketch has a strong graphic, (which is perfect in it's way of putting pieces together) and is basic enough to be very adaptable....
I've flipped it sideways...

And because mostly its dinnerware, I felt the paper doilies were appropriate, and the touch of gold - maybe for 'high tea'?   The little pinwheels and gemstone brads representative of shells.

And what of the doll's half face?  Who was the little girl who loved it?

It only begs more questions?

Off the Rails Card Challenge & Counterfeit Kits.....

Card Challenge is all about animal prints....

I REALLY need to make some cards to put in my stash!
So this challenge is great!

I've got some animal print behind my little diecut butterflies.....

You can find this fabulous challenge here

----------------------------------------------------------------

After making up my kit (which has already been dipped into quite a bit!!!!)

The usual Monthly (May) Challenge One was put up straight away....
(love it when that happens!)

 Weather Related:
Use a weather Icon (sun, cloud, raindrops...) on your project.

So  thought I'd try catch up on my PL pages and got done....

Week 11
when us girls get to run away to a three night scrappy camp!

THEN......
(which ran over the weekend)
http://counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.com.au/2014/05/wonderful-world-of-color-nsd-event.html

so here's what I've been up to so far with them...
(we've got until the 16th to upload)

Make a banner
Use at least 5 colors
Add a mixture of words (or letters to spell a word) and graphics (pictures, die cuts...)

The banner is made up of some punched out hearts (all scrap paper) and beaded string....

Added in some punched out circles too - and stamped some sentiments...

Strung out in front of the dining room's fireplace

It really was a bit of fun as I haven't made one before - it was quick and easy.
And as Hannah was leaving us (after 2 week Easter break) to go back to her study in Hobart.... I wound it around a piece of card and popped it in her bag as a surprise she uncovered when she unpacked.   It put a smile on her face.

Next challenge came in the form of....
by Jennifer Grace
Choose a photo to scrap or a project to work on and then think carefully about the mood you want to set with your colors before you stick anything together.

I've set this LO in blues/greens - it shows tranquillity and calmness.... photos of Meaghan who lives abroad.  It's so good to see her relaxed and happy and enjoying her surroundings.

LOL, this is a 'reminder' for Meaghan to remember to keep sending me her photos!

*edited*  to add in -
Meaghan saw her 'reminder' and sent this in an email...

Ok so I got your reminder LO!!
I haven't updated facebook recently with my pics, but otherwise you will have to wait until you come visit me in NZ and I give you the originals :)
Xxxx

Hee hee.....4 weeks and she'll be in New Zealand AND I will visit!!
Oh and did you see she wrote 'LO'  goodness, she is understanding 'scrappy jargon'!!!!

Love it!

Scrapki Wyzwaniowo, Amiche di Scrap Challenge, Counterfeit Kit Challenge...

Scrap with an animal in your project....

So had heaps of fun creating with this busy little squirrel!

I've extended the branches out with paint and black fineliner, and the little berries are a mixture of  red sequins, to rhinestone brads, to little red brads... starting with the large at the bottom to the smaller ones at the top of the branches to give that perspective of closer to far away.

You can find the challenge here
Blog Banner

-------------------------------------

Sfida Layout #7
is all about outdoor photos....
So getting some of my travel pics scrapped is a perfect opportunity!

Used some more little sequin pinwheels.... this time with some little heart shaped brads.
After falling in love with this type of sequin....I just HAD to go find and dig out all my old brads which had been put away in little screw plastic containers with all the 'daggy' stuff from ages old....  and looky...back in fashion again.  I was thrilled to find them among boxes stored away! (complete with squeal....'there they are!')  Another reason why I had so much fun with the squirrel LO..... used heaps of old brads!

I'm really happy to play along with Counterfeit Kit Challenges again....
It's just such a wonderful tool to get a kit together (out of your own stash) and then with everything co-ordinated in a box for the month - it becomes the main 'go to' especially  if time is scarce.

Here's the kit for this month to Counterfeit..

I really picked up on the colour, some project life... and the 'travel' theme...certainly want to get those travel photos done....it could not be more perfect!
Here's what I managed...

Papers...

 Project Life and Stickers

Alpha's

Embellishments

more embellishments

and some great map stamps!

I've already used a bit of this kit in the 'Jump' LO of Paige above...
so its going to be very useful!
