JAN 6th PAGE and a BLIND SCRAP

Weeeeell, I had to scrap my little reveal getting the chance to guest design a challenge! I was asked on the Scrap Therapy Forum, how long it takes me to do a journal page for each day, and definitely I give it 20 minutes (remembering these are only 8x8's......

20 minutes of creativity first thing in the morning about a highlight (or lowlight -cos they are gonna happen!) is what I love to do especially when everyone is still asleep! And the other most important rule I've given myself is NOT to cut into any new paper - ONLY using scraps!! I'm loving weedling down my scraps box! I'm loving using paper I've adored before and creating with it again.....and yes there are papers in my scraps box that make me cringe 'what was I thinking!!!!' lol. But perhaps they are good for 'lowlight' pages - who knows??

BLIND SCRAP AT SCRAP THERAPY

This month of January, the Design Team were given the month off (yay) and several of the loyal forum members were given a change to guest design. Spikyjen took us through this Blind Scrap and with the Forum Theme for January of 'Its all about Me' this was my end result. I had no idea how the title came about - there you are - no make-up! teehee

OLW-Start, SATU and Jan 5th (365)

'START' is a perfect word to kick off 2009 for OLW Click on photo to see a closer look at the result of those fabulous Purple Onion Date stamps I love them! And for me.......its definitely about finding a healthy balance between the things I love to do and the things I must do. Its really hard acheiving the juggling act especially with children. Finding a balance is a must this year. SCRAPPING ACROSS THE UNIVERSE - I'm a Guest Designer for this Challenge!! Here's my sample LO!! (Yippee - another little surprise!!!)

I'm delighted with being asked to join 'SCRAPPING THE MUSIC' design team! This is my first international position with such incredibly talented and strong women! My only hope is that I can measure up to their creativity and inspiration! I love using music as an inspiration!

Here's my sample for this week inspired by the song 'Hands' by Jewel Go visit and get inspired! Here's my JANUARY 4TH for my 365 journal Still in the garden....but this time I've focused on dh's wheelbarrow and gardening! This is his new shiny bright blue barrow! Its not anything like my well worn out rusty green one! You can just make out the bright rope ladder in the pear tree (folded up out of the way while gardening) that my girls still get fun climbing trees with! To me this is a priceless caught moment

365 Day Journal

I've been watching plenty of talk about 365 photos, journaling and art diaries for a while and finally catching the 1st day of the year and actually thinking about it - I've made a start with a

3D ring Album using 8x8 pages - more managable for scrapping a page a day. Nothing too fancy and certainly keeping each page fairly flat avoiding the lumpy-bumpy to fit in as many days in the album as possible - 15 pages for each month using each side. I'm sure there will be days I'll miss (due to my forgetfulness!!) as the year passes, but my New Years Resolution is to journal each page every day. I'm finding with the 3 pages already done - being 8x8 - it doesnt take long and certainly far from masterpieces - but thats not its purpose. Every photo scrapped will be a moment, part of my day or perhaps a thought - who knows.....but here's my start:

We stayed at friends place for New Years Eve and this little wheelbarrow retired to the garden, was once used in one of my productions 'The Secret Garden' for the gardener 'Ben'. Seeing it again, brought back special memories! After being away for Christmas and New Years - I was dying to scrap - so on this day - its all I did (among a little unpacking)!

My garden is starting to look lovely for Summer, so here's me and my green wheelbarrow (what is it about wheelbarrows!!) Its old, and has rust holes....and we do have a new bright blue one, but its uncomfortable looking! Does that make sense?? lol. I'm so affected by what I see!

FOR BUSY PEOPLE/BUSY TIMES: here's a little solution :

How about taking a photo a day when you can no matter how significant/insignifcant - print it out, write on the back of it, date it then..... punch a couple of holes and pop it into some sort of flip thingy ?? I may do this myself in my album when time gets away from me!!!

One of the things I am soooooo grateful for is that my Granny (who passed away 20 something years ago) wrote on the back of every photo!!

WHAT a legacy! (this is my fav pic of her - she was always picking mint!)

In her descriptions on the backs of photos she at times called herself a 'rumon' and said things like 'I'm frowning awful' and 'Did you notice my poor dead potplant!'

Does that rummage up some motivation??? :D

MY PIRATE GIRL

Yep - its time to toss Christmas aside and move along!! This an inspirational challenge for the monthly Cybercrop at Scraptherapy . I had the perfect photo of Hannah who was dressed in her Pirate garb for the Christmas Parade early December (yeah yeah - so Christmas isnt totally tossed aside LOL). Being one of the cast members for Pirates of Penzance, they had a fab float and Paige included - all had a great time throwing gold coins to the crowds!

This is a photo I just love of Hannah in one of those pensive moments. I think we are lucky to catch these moments on camera because they are sooooo fleeting.

And I cant forget the kitties!! They get festive too!!

Its summer here (for my international friends) yet poor ole Tassie's weather isnt being as co-operative as the rest of Oz! Its chilly, but it definiely didnt put a dampner on our holiday away with my family! We arrived home today and all I wanted to do was CUT into some paper!!!! Talk about withdrawal symptoms.....so I came up with this:

GROW (I've been busy today....)

I'm sooo thrilled how this turned out. I'm learning to make those flowers and I love it! I should be doing Christmassy preparation stuff here at home...but after coming in from the garden....weeeeeell, I just felt like scrapping....and fiddling with flowers!!!
