Sketches in Thyme and Our Beautiful World

Sketches in Thyme
I was so pleased to get hold of a dvd taken of Paige when she was six years old dancing
in a concert full of adults performing and had very little in the way of photos to
remember  it by from back in 2003.
HOWEVER, I took some photos of the screen when the dvd was placed on 'pause'. AND even though the photos are pretty ordinary - weeeell awful quality really - it doesn't matter!!  These photos are a precious memory worthy of being scrapped.  So into my PL album this week it goes!  The dancer Paige is performing with went onto a place with the Victorian College of the Arts . Out of 500 applicants Australia wide, only 30 are selected. and she graduated as their best 3rd year student.

The sketch is really open for scope and prompted to journal over the photo:

Sketch #32

It was also lovely to get this feature last week :)

for this little card :)

thanks so much

the theme is
Our Beautiful World is celebrating our 3rd anniversary

And I managed to catch these little three in my back garden
a couple of days ago......all fighting over a bit of  bread

Sketches in Thyme Project Life Style and Our Beautiful World

Reversed it a little
Here's a top half of 12x12 PL page
When doing a couple of subjects on a page, I usually colour code it.
The other part of the page had a grey background which worked well with the orange.
LOL, and no this isn't where she got her job :)

the theme is
This little cupid statue sits in our garden,
Its beautiful and weather-worn.
Decades ago, it was given to us as a wedding present :)

You may have heard that the east coast of Australia has been lashed with rain and high winds.
Houses, possessions and lives lost.

And Tasmania is having its fair share.
Towns here have been  and are being evacuated due to flooding. The Army moved in to help

One body found and two people are missing presumed drowned.

My husbands truck this morning......
It's looking rather 'jack-knifed pressed hard up against the others and
into the tanks.   Lost is two B-doubles and 3or 4 other semis. The office - computers -everything have gone. It will probably 3 weeks before the office is up and running again and new trucks sourced.
Some of the other businesses in the same road lost dozens of trucks - and forklifts, containers full of products.
This is our local jetty yesterday -
I've never seen it like this before - ever!
The wind shook our house.
King tides.

We (personally) are fine, we are up on higher ground.
Though, absentees where high in my classes today - not surprising.
Probably will be for a little while.
My prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones,
to those who have had to leave their houses, lost possessions, to the farmers already battling loses with animals and livestock swept away or trying hard to save them...

We can only imagine .....
