Its been fun, and I've got quite a nice stash of cards now!

Here's my try at Steph's card - her's was so luxurious, and looking at my stash, did the best with what I had.

 I cut the bottom two layers out of  Prima Annalee 'Romance' #841812 and used an Annalee NoteCard #541989 to top it with.

Scrap Therapy

 

How about a bit of hidden journaling? I've used the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Range
I know I'm not much of a journal-er (is there such a word ), but thought I'd have a bit of a go at hidden journaling ,and this project somewhat grew from that thought!

And if you lift the photo flap..... (dont mind my finger ) Paper making up the flap is Christmas Cottage 'Music' and Christmas Cottage 'Tiny Flowers' reverse side.

 

Underneath on the background paper paper (Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Red Damask reverse side) you will find all the journaling. You could even add photos on the other side of the flap, but I'm yet to find the one I want out of my still packed boxes since the move to stick there (it'll turn up )

 

But thats not all..... .
If you lift the other full length flap (Christmas Cottage 'Red Snowflakes' Paper)......

 

 

 

........there's more room for photos/momentos etc

 

 

Now see that largeTeresa Collins Decorative Button in the image below? That holds it all together. And if you look at the image above..... there's a sticker covering the button stitching on the reverse side.




Here's how I did it...

Cut the corners out of 12x12 paper background paper and colour in the edges with black watercolour pencil (sorry about some of the paper colour differences in the photos - the earlier steps where taken late at night)

 

 

With water and a paintbrush, add to the black pencil edging so it 'watercolours', and cut a piece of contrasting(Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Red Snowflakes) paper to fit longways as in the image below

 

 

 

Put some fabulous Tim Holtz Tissue Tapedown both side of the long strip of contrasting paper and adhere to the background paper .This will form the 'file' part of the LO.

 

 

 

Double mount the photo onto the music and stripey paper and also 'hinge' the side down with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape

 

 

 

The rest is just adding embellishments both with the flaps open and closed

I really loved the way Gerry created a window surrounded by Christmas folliage and adding a little bird  giving it life.

Day 10



 

I wondered how I was going to create the circle frame like Solange's card

So I used Prima North Country 'Forest Notes' 12x12 and cut out the little frame and also used the word 'joy' too.

 

 

Then used the fabulous Prima tree page from the North Country 8x8 Paper Stack #843700

And turned it sideways so it looks more like a landscape to put the little trees (also cut from a page in the 8x8 Paper Stack.

Prima 12 Days of Christmas Cards....

 

 

Managed to get three more cards done for the Prima Challenge.

I can honestly say, I've never really been interested in cards until lately, but have found that I really do like having a go with them. 

 

 

Day 6

Just changed the shape of the card from Stacey's to make it a longer rectange. ... still maintains the centre piece and wrapped string.  I've used the measuring tape as a banner... looks like 23rd and 24th - so the numbers on the tape were fabby to use!

Lesley had a flower banner on the left side of her card which is gorgeous.... I could see that a created Christmas Tree in its place would look fabby too!  And somehow this fun piece just developed somehow.  It was a joy to make!

Day 8

What a challenge this started out - then the creative process kind of took over and weeeeell, this is what happened.  I took in all of what Larissa had created and boy - 3D, and that's about creating a scene... I LOVE creating scenes!  This little tin was perfect!

I should be sewing  (have a production in a week's time) and need time out.

Its been full on at work and taken on much more than I usually ever do.

Tonight is late, but have been scrapping here and there when I can manage it.

I think its because scrapping Christmas is so motivating (to me) that getting more done is just coming so easily (big smile)

Counterfeit Kit Challenges

 

LOVE this site.. I'm using ALL sorts of papers and embellies I had forgotten about.

This challenge (keeping in mind that there are no prizes or any competition in anyway.. just motivation to use your stash) is:

Stamp Inspiration: Pick ONE stamp (not the whole set) to inspire you and use on your project. You can use more than one stamp, but your inspiration one should be prominent.  Say which stamp and how it inspired you.

 

I've used an old favourite triangle stamp with paint onto bits of music paper and scraps - then cut out, inked the edges and stapled together to form Christmas Trees
