Ken Oliver's Color Burst is an amazing product to play with!

It 'puffs' powder over the page and then spritz water!  

 

Now to add some shimmer and deeper colour

Twinkling h20's - needed to mix the pair to get just the right colour

Counterfeit Kit Challenges

 

 

Finally put my mind to getting my Counterfeit Kit together!

 

The kit is from Germany - Scrapabilly March Kit

 Totally love the woodgrain throughout.

 

And as usual, put it through 'Chip-It' to get some colour swatches

 

Here's the result:

And some embellishments 

 

  

 

Hmmn, I'm leaving out stamps and paints and alphas etc, because they are all something I'd grab on the whim while scrapping.  And this is enough of a good core kit for starters :)

 

It's already gone to good use!

 

The first challenge is:

 

Challenge #1: Picture this!  Scrap with no LESS than 4 photos on your project.  You can use more photos, but not less.

YAY - that means Project Life and I always need excuses to get uptodate!!!

 

First up is my winter garden...

Got to LOVE online photography challenges!  Why? 

Because it makes you take photos each week AND then you can use them in Project Life!

That way you don't get to a photo-less week and say 'oops, forgot to take pics!'

Did another pocket LO using no less than 4 photos!

Not the best dancing photos, they were more like quick grab pics - but at least a memory. The group were in hysterics in one photo, and I wish I could remember what is was!

Tuesday Afternoon at A Spirit of Simplicity

theme for the photo is

 'Stillness'

 

Even though Paige has only 3 weeks home with us,

she was asked to join her old quartet for a concert

Panicked she hadn't picked up her violin since February,

she managed to get time alone on stage, just her with me watching, and the acoustics...

She starts with Vivaldi's Four Seasons,

her favourite and knows it by heart. As soon as she lifted that bow

to her violin,  I was searching through my bag for my camera but stopped in my tracks...

 it was as if she had never stopped playing.

She moves her body, lowers and lifts her violin like she dances with it

and it sung.  I  managed to grab my camera for this moment in a big empty space

 She doesn't even notice me......consumed, there was no

 'Oh mum, no photos - trying to concentrate'

 

I will never get sick of hearing her play.

One thing I'm really pleased about at the moment, is that I'm getting pages finished for Hannah's little vintage quote book.   I hope you don't get too tired of seeing them!

 

I'd love to finally be able to give it to her and am wondering if that day will ever come.

 

Since painting and sketching inside it, the book isn't getting as 'fat' as it was with embellishments and a lot of thick gesso layering etc, but I'm sure there will still be some lumps and bumps to go into it yet.

 

 

Hannah played piano for eight years and she absolutely loved her teacher who very sadly passed away last week. So a page is very fitting for Hannah's little book to commemorate her precious memories of piano lessons with a grand lady who loved Hannah just as much.

July is a snowy cold month!

Cradle Mountain always puts on a show!

Lucky  for the chicken wire hammered down on the pathway...  it becomes less slippery. 

 Hannah follows Paige....

 

 

Treading a  new path....

 

 

The island of Tasmania lies between the mainland Australia to its north

and Antarctica to its south..... 

and yes in winter, parts of Tasmania gets a good layer of snow.
