September Counterfeit Kit Challenge....

 

 

It's been quite sometime I've played along with Counterfeit Challenges and I've really missed it.

The home-shoppedstash kit each month was really useful to just pick up the box its stored in and sit and create - easy!   I've also found this great when going to a crop - just pick up the box which is already co-ordinated with a bunch of photos and off we go!

 

 

 

There are a few July Kits at Citrus Twists

But the one I liked the most was July's 'Adventure on...I think because it had more stronger colours in it - and some pretty doilies....  

 

 

 

There's also a fabulous Paper Add-On called 'Summertime'

So I got inspired by the colours in that too

 

 

AND, I like really big kits so I can really work at completing some LO's and maybe a few cards all month with plenty to choose from.

 

Now I cant wait to get creating with it!!

 

LOL, might start straight away!

Project Life Weeks 20 and 21

 

 

Just a couple of Project Life pages...

I'm trying to catchup.... LOL only 16 more pages to get up to date!!

I'll do it!

 

I've found when going through my photos to get a weekly page together that the focus seems to be on Paige more than Hannah or the rest of the family.

She seems to be the happiest to be photographed,  Hannah not so much, but looking at this, I think a little encouragement for a photograph from Hannah more often would be a good thing. 

Do you ever find that suddenly you have more photos of one child more than the others?  Especially when that one child is much more outgoing and therefore is proned to be before a camera with a flash of a smile!  Hmmmmn.....

 

 

 

Now that there are quite a few more pages in my album, its already wonderful to look through to remember the year by.   Loving my Project Life... something I thought I'd never be interested in!

Just gotta get into my Travel album now!

SPRING!

 

Thanks goodness our little part of the world is showing snippets of warming up again...

The birds are busy and the bulbs are blooming...

 

In my garden....

 

Thank goodness for Spring...

 

I cant wait to really get in and sort the garden out.  Tasmania is colder and wetter than the rest of Australia, so we have to wait a little longer for the weather to improve.

 

The forecast is that we will have a warmer than normal Spring.

Hmmn...  good for us!

 

 

 

 

 

 



Time for a Change.. at Scrap Therapy

 

The last day of August was the last day for our Design Team at Scrap Therapy 

So..., it's time for a change........ to say bye for now......
We have come to the end of an era really - as Julie, Deb and I  have been on this design team since April 2011 so its been quite a long time!
And its also been a second time around for Julie and I being on a previous team back in 2008/2009
We have thoroughly enjoyed it, created projects with fabulous products, and even created projects we never dreamed of creating!
We would all like to thank Lee-Anne and Danny for everything. Its been a privilege designing for Scrap Therapy alongside such wonderfully warm and talented ladies and forming firm friendships.

So to say goodbye and finish off I created a LO to remember our time

 

It leaves very fond memories.

 

 I even found the old post from May 2009 with a LO I created for that 'farewell' too!
It seems it now has a matching one done four years later!

The page was the reverse side of Week16 which has 11 pockets and because of there are many, I try to stick to plain cardstock as backgrounds - (the grey cards in  Project Life Jade 3x4's )

Week 18

One of the things I love to do before starting a page is to pick the page insert that would fit that weeks pics and I've built up a collection of clear plastic refills with all sorts of pocket orientations.

I REALLY love this one which can be found HERE

I've used one 12x12 (Teresa Collins Far & Away Pennants Paper) cut into pieces to fit all the pockets, backed with black cardstock to give it definition.

 

See in the above picture, the little black outlined pennants hanging below the main photo... weeell, those little tails got hidden under the photo once it was placed down, so I cut them out and backed them with black cardstock and placed them lower then the photos edge

Week 19

I really wanted to use another 6x12 pocket for Week 19 for Paige's mid-year dinner so a feature could be made of her in her outfit  and shoes we bought in Rome at Zara's.  (She was soooo excited and LOL....so were we as it turned out very inexpensive!! YAY for us!!)

Our Beautiful World Challenge and Scrap Therapy Project Life Weeks 15 & 16

 

 

Our Beautiful World #7

This is a lovely photography challenge blog.

I only found it for their #6 challenge - had my photo ready to go, and went away to a place where there was no reception for my computer and couldnt upload it before the deadline... nevermind.

But the GREAT thing about this site is that it will keep  me taking photos each week - and that could be good for my subjects for  my PL weekly too!

 

So with that said....this challenge's subject is

'Wonder'   

On Friday just past, we had the arrival of a French Exchange Student come stay with us.

So we took her to our local Wildlife Farm, for the weekend and she met all sorts of Australian animals for the first time.  She was so amazed and became completely at home with them...

Here is a kangaroo who very gently played with her, with ulterior motive -he wanted her paper bag! 

It did have wheat in it!!!!  She couldn't believe it!

Scrap Therapy

Some of my Project Life Weeklys and Travel Album are going to overcross a little bit as the weekly instalments will have some of the travel pics in them.... but 'oh well' lol!

Week 15

I just love the orange in this and it suited all the pics

 

 

using THIS Page Insert

( I love having many different page inserts to choose from!!)

 

 

 

And by picking out the 'orange-y' cards from

WRMK's Albums Made Easy 'Webster'

and setting them out on top of the page insert to see how they would look, and to see which ones I'd use for  the titles etc...  yep some I used sideways :)

I think what I try to do, is find a solution to keep unity, colour or balance somehow... not on purpose, it just kinda happens.....

 

 

And because of this... when placing the photos they somehow seem to fit 

 

 

When looking at the balance of the cards- changed the dotty card with the 'details' card and it worked well.

Week 16

This week SO much happened... We had flown to London, and the many, many things we did - I needed A LOT of photo spaces!

THIS Page Insert was PERFECT!

 

 

And because there were SO many pics to fit in here

(just imagine.... arriving, Hogwarts, Downton Abbey tour, going up the east coast to Meaghan's house... way too many.....in that week....

and thinking all the photos/journaling/patterns/titles would get lost and overwhelmed...

 decided to go with one colour in cardstock as the background and let the photos and titles do the main work....

I'm thought I was a bit late doing this challenge and loved the colours, only to find that the very same day Colour Combos uploaded a challenge called flashback.... where we could pick any challenge from the first part of this year!
SO... luckily then could put this in as one of the previous challenges - lol - the last challenge that I nearly didn't get to do !
