 Its been so busy getting scrappy committments done on time, not that I mind because I love creating everyone of them  - its just a pain when work gets in the way LOL!

December Daily

If you have been to Scrap Therapy to see the thread we have going over there at the moment, please do as theres lots of discussion and pics of Dec Dailys being constructed.  I've got mine completed now all ready for December 1st~!  I cant wait to start and to share the completed one here (big smile)

December Daily

I've started mine!

Here's the covers:

I've used a fabulous Fancy Pants Transparency

And the covers from Teresa Collins Noel Kit (and a few bits of the papers)

plus glued Kraft over the very bold red and white print covers!

But mostly I'm using in the Dec Daily,

Simple Stories Christmas Kit

(please excuse my very unavoidable reflection in the overlay)

It will be finished all ready to go by December 1st, so I wont be uploading how I put the album together here on the blog - but you can see that part at:

And I'm making that my mantra this year and for once

be organised  at least plan/think about it as early as beginning of November!

November already! Step by Step Dress Form Tutorial

I cant imagine where October went?  Did it even happen?

Time is moving so fast and before long....(dare I say it??) that 'C' word will be here!

And I cant wait... 

 I love CHristmas -

There!  I said it! LOL!

Here's a quick little update...

One of the things I love to do is to craft dresses out of paper!
So I've had a bit of a play here with ORANGE! Love it!



Its made out of Marrakech Vanilla Chai and Lime Rickey Orange Cream(much more orange in real life than in the shop where its quite yellow - the pic about does it justice!) both these lines were faves of mine a while ago

Here's how you can put a little dress together...
Cut out the desired length of the skirt, spray with water first though (its easier to fold that way) and pleat



Find a manequin on the net and cut it out - or you may have one in some shape or form or be clever enough to draw one - cut out of card board though - it just stabilises it a bit more. Glue your pleated skirt to it.



Now its time to add the bodice - easy enough to wrap a strip around the bust of the manequin (I sprayed the paper with water first so it would adjust around the shape better. Glue it on


Time to cut out a flower shape from the Marrekech paper - (actually I cut out three, one for the skirt - and too for later on.... )


Here we place a crease in the flower cut-out, so it fits nicely on the waist


And bind some green embroidery thread around it to give the waistline some definition


Finish the little dress off with a lovely big button - Sugar Rush Buttons and a little bow.


And we can put this dressed manequin embellishment onto a LO...
The Alpha is Basic Grey Pheobe These are great cos you can get two sizes in two different colours!
So here it is...


I've used the rest of the orange Lime Rickey paper as a base for the the Marrekech paper which as you can see has three flowers cut out - so it shows the plain orange through. So I've put a button and bow on the two other flower cut-outs (bent the edges up a little) and offset them to the side a bit of their original place, And used the third space as a journaling spot!


Some of Basic Grey's papers have fabulous patterns where you can get creative with cut-outs! And it's background papers will forever remain my faves!

I stamped my image with a large foam stamp, lifted it a little, then dragged it down the page.

Here's my LO for Let's Get Shabby,

Its all about monochromatic.... and I've used Creams to Beige to Brown

HALLOWEEN BLACK CAT STEP BY STEP

Yeah yeah - I know - we dont reeeeally celebrate Halloween in general... but for some reason I always feel compelled to at least one sort of 'Halloween-ish' project each year. Dont really know why - just cos! (I think )

This one is of my darling Black Cat (easy subject of halloween!!! ) he's a re-educated feral cat - and his journey has been a long tough one, and needless to say - he's different from any cat I've ever owned.

The twist of it all is the LO really reflects how he sees the world - scary. He's scared of everything and everyone. Mostly he's scared of being returned to his old life. He lives in fear - and never leaves the house.




The chipboard you will find - Eerie Chip Sticker Shapes

Isnt the chipboard cat just the coolest(it can always be painted if you dont want the dots...but I've kept the peeled off backing to use as a mask!!!) The shapes are all quite a good size (take a look at the LO to get an idea)


Using the Tree as a Mask
Using the peeled off backing as a mask - (I used the actual tree in Oct Room One)

I painted the background with a splash of black paint to create the dark atmosphere and let that dry, then placed the white tree backing on the painted page


Then painted over backing mask with mauve-grayish paint and this is how it turned out once the backing was pulled away. I coloured with black the parts of the branches that faded away on the right hand side just to give it more definition


Then added all the fabulous Eerie chipboard embellishments along with the photo etc.

This is photo challenge (playing with our cameras) from last month - the photo must be used on a LO for this month...

Last month it was all about Black and White

and here's my LO with my photo from last month...

Meet Charlie - one of my close friends  little puppy.  He was running around with Paige (though you cant see her)

I've completed a LO for Global Scrappers for Manufacturer which was American Craft... I was really scraping the bottom of my barrel to find any paper - the cardstock and thickers I had in plenty!

Added some lovely K&Co dimensional flowers to pretty it up!  Little Paige.
