Another couple of pages of Blackie's first year with us....
One of 'his' things was to get up high, to feel safe. Up on top of the fridge was one of those places.
In the end, I put a blanket up there for him. It was interesting to read KarenLadd's comment saying her ex-feral had to be waist height or higher - this is so true!

It's so great seeing this little pages build up in Blackie's 4x4 album!
Its not as hard as what I thought it would be scrapping so small.

If not - a moggie from the shelter - black and panther like. I LOVE black cats! And I prefer getting adult cats - ones that don't have half the chance kittens do. :) But my luck has it (and its a good thing) my next cat will just 'turn up in the garden' like many before - knowing when to come.... bit Mary Poppins really

Great black cats. We have had a black cat which has been fine except I have to say it has been a little freaky when she has been on my pillow staring at me when I wake up, hehe.
Your mini album for Blacky is inspiring me to make one of my own for my cats. I only wish I had taken more photos of them when I could, but it was almost impossible to get a shot that wasn't blurry or missing half the cat!

Great how this album is coming along :-) It's definitely true that the (ex)ferals like to be up much higher than others... I am pretty sure it's so they can feel safe and survey their surroundings but I think really it's to be ready with their ninja ambush techniques !!! hahaha

Great job getting Blackie's journal down. Miniature black panther! That's what black cats remind me of. Our Jack O'Lantern was black and sleek as a young cat. He's old and crotchety now, not so sleek and no longer all black. He is getting gray hairs.
I think all cats like it up high but especially feral cats.

Oh I SO agree about getting an older cat - I adopted my last 2 specifically looking for 2 adult cats (which in shelter language is a year old or older). Blackie definitely has that panther look! All of my cats except one are black kitties, and they are the most sweetest, affectionate kitties ever! Blackie looks like my Omar Kitty - -relaxed ball of black fur!

Meow meow meow!! I ADORE your mini album pages about Blackie!!! This shot of him on top of the refrig is so cute.
Cats certainly do like to be up high. We have a loft in our living room where the cats like to nap. There is a fold-down ladder for going up there, but do the cats take the ladder???? NOOOOOO! Ha. They jump from the floor to the countertop (bad kitties!) to the top of refrig, to the top of a high bookshelf, to the top of the loft rail and down into the loft from the rail. When they come back down...it is thump, thump, thump, thump as they reverse the process! lol....
