Just love working with water colour pencils... they can add dimension to projects, in both colour, definition and shadow work....
An essential part of colouring....there's nothing quite like a 'wash'!

First, a bit of the background...
Putting on a bit more gesso on the love heart for some definition of the base colour...
There are two papers here, the bottom 12x12 background and the smaller 'postcard' top layer. Both have been folded along the lines and with a black water colour pencil drew on some colour and touched with water - to give it that aged look...
scribbling on some colour with red and crimson...
More black to start casting shadow work....
touching with water....
Next the mannequins.....
cut out...
Then add some crimson, green and black to them..
Add a script stamp, here and there...
The background is ready for the little photo and title...

my own water color pencils are always close at hand. so much fun.
today i needed to sharpen a bit and did this over a background sheet of paper. i sprayed the shavings with a tiny bit of water and let sit for a while. later i brushed off the wood bits and had lovely random spots of color on my page. best of all: no waste.
i was quite happy.
