Sketches in Thyme PL style and Our Beautiful World....

 

 Thought its about time to do a challenge...
So with Project Life about the only thing I really scrap these days...
Sketches in Thyme fits in easily.

Here's the first sketch #25

I've flipped this on its side :)

Sometimes I really love to do a full page LO for my PL album,
yet still was able to do the little sketch on a smaller 6x6 diecut piece,
then place it on the LO to complete the bigger picture.

Not quite the picture sentiment... but found a puffy sticker,
and cut out a pic of this little cartoon cat - believe me,
this is the exact physique of Blackie!

Poor Blackie, forever in a state of anxiety!
Trying to get the floor ready for new tiles - the boards underneath were in shocking
condition so needed to be replaced.  Blackie was beside himself with the disappearing floor!

 Don't you just love the 'crazy cat' stamps!
Suits Blackie to a tee!

He really does like to 'look' outside, but its very short-lived everytime!

'From a low angle'....

 

 

We've been renovating- part of the reason why I've been so scarce in the scrapping world

most of my supplies are packed away out of reach .....

 

Our house is old and has the most wonderful character... but what ISNT so wonderful is when something gets pulled up like old floor covering.... what is found underneath is a shock!

 

Yep... right down to the dirt!

This looks out towards the back door...

Even these joists had to be pulled out and removed, replaced and boards re-layed.

Sigh... the worst is done now! And its put back together :)

ANZAC DAY and Our Beautiful World...

 

 

Anzac Day, 25 April, is one of Australia’s most important national occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.  It's a national public holiday. It also recognises all other theatres of war too.

 

 ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as Anzacs, and the pride they took in that name endures to this day.

Today Paige marched in my fathers place as he can no longer manage it. With his medals and his grandfathers medals doned to her jacket,  Paige arrived for muster and was overjoyed when she was given the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) banner to hold and to lead the Air Force Association division.  My father's military career was first with the Army , followed by the Air Force.    Needless to say, Paige was so chuffed and proud......  And my dad... even moreso....

 

 

After the march to the cenotaph and ceremony,  Paige and her Grandpa went to the Air Force Club for a drink and catch up with ole war mates.

Our Beautiful World........ and got a Feature over at Sketches in Thyme PL Style!

 

 

 

Our Beautiful World...

 

The theme this week is

 

 

HOME

 

I've been following the life of this leaf spider for months... and have even recorded in my Project Life album... it has been such a character...

 

Here 'Leafy' has worn out her leaf home to skeletal proportions to the point where she's revealed!

Hardly the place to hide herself... she needs a new home!

 

 

 

Whatsmore, a week later she got her new home,  and a partner...and even though her

leaf is blurred in the foreground (with both spiders in it),  the focussed leaf in the background is the nursery!   Yes... they curl a small leaf and in goes the babies away from the parents bedroom!

Their webs are works of art!  These are orb spiders.

 

Here's a pic of what a leaf-curling spider looks like...

 

 

 

 

 Not vicious, nor poisonous to humans.  Might cause some localised redness and swelling.

A New Fun Downton Abbey Resource......

 

 

 

I'm a great fan of Downton Abbey... AND in 2013 Paige and I was lucky enough to go on a 'Locations Tour' when we were in England...

A lovely person by the name of Jo Toader emailed to let me know of a new Downton Abbey resource created:
