Creative Jumpstart 2015 - Jimmy Leslie Inspiration......

 

 

This is my fourth year of workshopping with

Creative Jumpstart 2015

all collaborated by Nat Kalbach.

This year one main manufacturer is used: Liquitex

 

I love doing this workshop, it 'makes' me get out mixed media and really have a go especially to start off the new year, still on holidays, and enjoying the relaxation of Summer.

 

 

This is my first project inspired by Jimmy Leslie, who explains product and how to use it extremely well.  I found myself scribbling notes and then going to my desk and construct my own interpretation of what he said about the products and what he used, rather than what he actually visually did.

I think this kind of approach is going to work well with this workshop  :)

 

I didn't take step by step photos as it was late last night and photographing it would not turn out well.

 

 Gesso on the background(including using a music stamp seen very faintly and numbers stamp), then painted some circles in, cut out some fabric butterflies and used Matte Gel to stick them down.  Used markers to add colour and definition.... and......

 

 

 oh boy!!! 
Do I love the spray paints with stencils!

 

 

The wash left on stencils were rubbed into a little art journal for later use.

 

The '2015' are just drawn freehand and coloured in and shaded with the paint markers

This is now going to be the title page to my 2015 Project Life album
(very big grin!)

What a big year 2014 was, a good year.

Let's hope 2015 brings loads of good luck, cheer and creativity to all!

Let's December Daily

 

 

I've managed to complete a couple more pages for

 

 

LET'S DECEMBER DAILY

 

Poor old Blackie has been taken off to the vet... He has arthritis pretty badly, and the medication he has been put on is not good for his kidneys, so at the moment, the choice is... live longer in pain, or a shorter pain-free life.   Weeell, that's a no brainer...  though my heart fell to my stomach when I read online how dangerous this drug is, so have been pleased to see that Blackie has responded extremely well so far.  He is moving easier and eat!!  Eat eat eat!   Goodness! 

Oh, to get him into that cat carrier to get to the vet... goodness - he went spread-eagled, hissed and spit and tried to scratch, even bite - whatever he could...he was NOT getting into that carrier!  Sooo, in the end, Paige had to tip it up on its end, and with me with my hands around Blackie's ribcage, lowered him feet first in!

Once that door was shut - ooooh how betrayed he looked.  At the clinic, the words 'very stressed' was used by the vet - I'm not sure if she meant cat or me!  

 

And at long last 'Tiny' our rescued bird was released.  She/he was so so noisy,  it had started to stress Chirp (our sparrow) and being in really good condition, fully feathered and flying, it was time for Tiny to go. She had her last feed, and on my hand was taken outside, next she/he flew into the tree near my front steps, had a good look around for a minute or two, flew high over the road and into some trees... and that's the last we saw Tiny.   I'm sure she is leading a wonderful happy free life!

My Poor Blog Feels Sparce at the Moment...

 

 

That's because so much is going on in the background.

 

 

Firstly, I'm choreographing for the Disney version of  Beauty and the Beast Musical at the moment and its taking much more time than I ever intended, especially coming off the back of ' The Nutcracker'. 

 

Secondly in between family and home with Christmas, running to rehearsals, I'm trying to get my December Daily for 'Let's December Daily' (which I'm loving) up to date and posted online there (of course everything else is standing in the way of scrapping lol!)

 

 

And thirdly..... must confess, there has not been one present bought yet!!!

Alarming you might think!  It will be one of our usual one big swoop things we usually do...

yes, dh and I go shopping at 10pm at night - to be all finished by midnight in the week before Christmas... when NO one is about, NO lines at checkout... and most times lucky with last minute sales!

So... maybe this isn't your cup of tea... but its ours and we do it every year :)

 

Fourthly....

 We are so proud of Paige!!!

She got first-round offer to go to the University she has applied for....

Armed with my camera as she read her letter!!

 

Then she jumped and squealed and hugged everyone in her way around the house ...

and didn't sleep a wink with excitement last night!

Congratulations Paige!!

 

 

 

And lastly, and Meaghan comes home from New Zealand on Saturday for a couple of weeks!
And with Hannah home too....weeeelll

Happy 18th Birthday Paige!!

 

 

I've been missing I know,

and catching up is definitely on my list from tomorrow on because

I'm on holidays now until mid February!!

 

But it also meant that the frenzy leading up to finishing work felt unbelievably shemozzle at times and moments I truly did question whether we would cross that finishing line!!!

 

We have and today our ballet production of 'The Nutcracker' is over..

But not only that, we also celebrated Paige's

18th Birthday....
nothing like.......ice-cream cake!

 

 

Such a beautiful young lady...

 

so very very proud!

Oh boy I cant believe it's December!

It snuck up! LOL!

The last four days have been exhausting here with many

commitments to fill, running from one event to another....

Today, I caught up.... and scrapped...
