Counterfeit Kit Challenges....

 

After making up my kit (which has already been dipped into quite a bit!!!!)

 

The usual Monthly (May) Challenge One was put up straight away....

(love it when that happens!)

 

 

May Challenge #1: 

 Weather Related:  

Use a weather Icon (sun, cloud, raindrops...) on your project.

 

So  thought I'd try catch up on my PL pages and got done....

when us girls get to run away to a three night scrappy camp!

 

 

 

 

THEN......

Counterfeit Kits had a range of different challenges and inspiration happening for

National Scrapbooking Day

(which ran over the weekend)

 

so here's what I've been up to so far with them...

(we've got until the 16th to upload)

 

A Banner.....

Make a banner

Use at least 5 colors

 Add a mixture of words (or letters to spell a word) and graphics (pictures, die cuts...)

 

  The banner is made up of some punched out hearts (all scrap paper) and beaded string....

 

 

Added in some punched out circles too - and stamped some sentiments...

 Strung out in front of the dining room's fireplace

 

 

 



 

 

 

 It really was a bit of fun as I haven't made one before - it was quick and easy.

And as Hannah was leaving us (after 2 week Easter break) to go back to her study in Hobart.... I wound it around a piece of card and popped it in her bag as a surprise she uncovered when she unpacked.   It put a smile on her face.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next challenge came in the form of....

Challenge #1 Color Your Mood!

 Choose a photo to scrap or a project to work on and then think carefully about the mood you want to set with your colors before you stick anything together.

 

 

 

 I've set this LO in blues/greens - it shows tranquillity and calmness.... photos of Meaghan who lives abroad.  It's so good to see her relaxed and happy and enjoying her surroundings.

 

 

 

 LOL, this is a 'reminder' for Meaghan to remember to keep sending me her photos!

Challenge #100 

 Scrap with an animal in your project....

 

So had heaps of fun creating with this busy little squirrel!

 

 

I've extended the branches out with paint and black fineliner, and the little berries are a mixture of  red sequins, to rhinestone brads, to little red brads... starting with the large at the bottom to the smaller ones at the top of the branches to give that perspective of closer to far away.

is all about outdoor photos....

So getting some of my travel pics scrapped is a perfect opportunity!

 

 

 

Used some more little sequin pinwheels.... this time with some little heart shaped brads.

After falling in love with this type of sequin....I just HAD to go find and dig out all my old brads which had been put away in little screw plastic containers with all the 'daggy' stuff from ages old....  and looky...back in fashion again.  I was thrilled to find them among boxes stored away! (complete with squeal....'there they are!')  Another reason why I had so much fun with the squirrel LO..... used heaps of old brads!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge

 

I'm really happy to play along with Counterfeit Kit Challenges again....

It's just such a wonderful tool to get a kit together (out of your own stash) and then with everything co-ordinated in a box for the month - it becomes the main 'go to' especially  if time is scarce.

I really picked up on the colour, some project life... and the 'travel' theme...certainly want to get those travel photos done....it could not be more perfect!

WW1 and Stuck!?

 

 

I've had a lovely time the last few days scrapping my heart out after such a long break... and with holidays fast running out.......I must get some painting (of the kitchen!) done, so I wont get to the end getting ready for going back to work  and having a heap of scrapping done, but no big jobs around the house completed (that I'd promised myself to get done LOL)! 

 

Anyway, only for a few days!

 

 

Here's the latest...

 

 

WWI - Mint

Did my best to get the colour right....  aaah well....

Meaghan spends each of her Christmas' in the European mountains skiing while living away especially since she cant come home, but she hooks up with her girlfriends - mostly ex-pats and away they go. 

 

 

 

I've used a mixture of fibres in loose and close weave to replicate the mountain lines....
The loose weave is really hard to see....

Stuck!? Sketches Apr 15

 

A great sketch to play with two photos....

 

 

 

 

 

 

Quickly drew up the tops of the buildings and stuck them in behind the photo - it seemed cut off, as well as placing some fibre behind Paige's head...just extends the photo a little more.

Weeeell, that's my scrapping for now I think.....

better break out some paint brushes and go wash down some walls!

Inside the cover... I've attached a pocket to poke receipts, tickets etc into.

And used some blue and green watercolour pencils



 

 

First page has a flap, and pocket...

Little diecut gloves and snowmen with wire arms... with little words/sequins, watercolouring, rhinestones  and covered completely with Dimensional Magic....

Happy Birthday to Meaghan (was yesterday for us- she is living in Scotland)

 

 

This morning she said that she'd taken a few hours off work(her night) to go home to bake herself this cake... she always loved sprinkles as a little girl!

 

 

Cant wait till she moves to New Zealand!!!

Creative Scrappers #266, Whimsical Musings #132, April Orange Paperie

 

What a hoot... I've actually managed to stumble across some of my most older papers to use in these three LO's... the first one is 1999! (it says so on the back!)LOL...

The second one, is a very old DaisyD's, (a brand gone a few years now, but was ahead of its time - it would do better in an arty way these days)  and the third one is 2005 (also says on the back!)

Oh boy I had fun with this... lots of Izink colour and canvas butterflies in the negative and positive!

I've really grown to love my brad speared pinwheel sequins (ha...maybe that might become a new trend! hee hee)  and the sketch really afforded the use of them!

Whimsical Musings Challenge # 132

First time I've played along, and I really got hooked by the criteria...

To be inspired by a LOGO...

 

Weeeeell, I had a bit of a 'google'  for 'logos' and this one came up almost immediately....

 

 

Easy Peasy!

 

I knew what my LO would be!

Got the watercolour pencils out for shading...

 

Yeah, I know..... more pinwheels!

Orange Paperie - April

Circles and Flourishes....

This was a fun challenge...  all the stag-jumps Paige playfully did for the camera from around China.  Couldn't believe we forgot to get one on the Great Wall - aaah well. 

 

 

 

 

It's so nice to be on holidays... just this week left...
