Fun/Silliness....

I really loved the colours in this painting - the yellows, the checker board....it resonated in my LO in polka dots with a pop of yellow,  and red....for vibrancy. 

 

Back in September, Paige went back overseas with her school friends and their French teacher (who is amazing)  and the one thing she wanted to do....weeeell there were actually two..... go to Disneyland in Paris (which we didn't get to go to last April) and get some Minnie Mouse ears!!!  She was so excited and sent some photos through her phone to me (so not great quality) with the message "I'M HERE, I'M HERE!!!!!"  

 

Simple Stories 'Say Cheese' are just sooooo perfect for these kinds of LO's!

Creative Scrappers Sketch 265

 

This sketch has a Project Life feel to it, so decided to use it for my

 

WEEK 10

Even though I've done the sketch in a 12x12 orientation...its great to give my PL album something different, yet still be in keeping with the PL style.

I really enjoyed this!

I'm trying out a couple of new challenge sites and really liked the criteria!

Sketch and Colour Challenge...
using paints and inks.... not hard- I just love them!

We bought a little polaroid camera for our travels, and must admit..the quality of photos seem to fade as time goes on it seems.  Anyway, the girls had fun with it as did we, so was a cool thing to play with at the time!  Here we are in London....

 

  

 

These are little pinwheel sequins, so much fun when adding a brad....

Smile and Scrap Sketch Challenge #7

 

 

This is a little Snow Album I've started to put together about our trip to Cradle Mountain with Julie and Asher when they came to visit.  This is a little Bo-Bunny Misc Me 'Zip-A-Dee-Doodle' album but the covers were very bold, so I covered it with Gesso and Modge Podge to make it look more Wintery.

 

The Title work is all covered with Dimensional Magic....love that stuff!

'Let's Get Shabby' Challenge #54

 

Its all about Maps!

 

I've got so many travel photos I'd love to scrap...so this was a great challenge to get me started on it again!

 

This is Paige & I about a third through our 10 kilometre hike on the 'Jinshanling' section of the Great Wall. It was very taxing and mostly rubble or massive step climbs (using hands as well), even our Chinese guide thought we (along with dh and Hannah) were crazy to tackle it.  I must admit I did question the idea midway! (Maybe the tourist section would have been a better idea!) But we managed and got through it.  This section of the wall is untouched by tourism and photos can be taken without being shoulder to shoulder with other tourists.  In fact, we were almost alone - other than a pair of sprukers!



 

The cotton fibres like the ones above form part of the prize this month!

Paper Dvizhnik Challenge #40: Cute

Using a 'cute' photo

 

Looking through photos to find 'cute', could not go past this gorgeous pic of a little gosling that walked with us in St James Park in London this time last year...

It seemed so confident strutting along.....I got down low behind it and managed to get a photograph - way way adorable!

 

 

I really wanted to replicate the way it walked with us.... so cut out a little duck foot with cardboard and painted it with gesso...

 

and stamped it on the cardstock

 

Then, outline the little feet with black, and not to throw away the little cardboard stamp, stuck it on one of the footprints for some texture :) 

 

 

Diecut doilies and feathers....

 

 

Extended the black branches beyond the transparency on the photo by using a black pen

Week 4

Much travel in this week... Hannah went to Melbourne to visit a school friend, and then we ended up in Hobart as Hannah will be moving there to study.... and while there, visited my gf who had just became a grandmother......  it was so exciting for her!   Hannah had her very first nurse a baby!

 

Week 5

Meaghan came home on a surprise visit for my birthday from the UK...

What a wonderful family get-together we had this week!

 

Week 6

The girls had a wonderful week together, but sadly it came to an end...

2014 Project Life... finally begins!

 

 

The first part of this year has been super crazy with work and although its also been super creative, its been taxing........on my scrapping!

Anyway, I'm back!   And finally getting caught up with a few projects.

 

So Project Life has been started... I've actually got up until week 8 done, but so far have only photographed and edited a few pages... nevertheless - its a beginning and being on school holidays is great to wind down with the girls plus scrap!  Hannah is home which we LOVE  and oooh GREAT news.... Meaghan is moving to New Zealand in June!  She has a new job there and she is thrilled.  I know New Zealand is not Tasmania, but its close, closer than UK!   AND we can visit more often!

 

Anyway, I'm sure it will play out in PL as time passes!!

 

Here's my cover page... yes its a page I did at the beginning of the year for Creative Jumpstart 14 and had this in mind at the time.    Don't you just love those little black plastic inserts, perfect for a few words or date etc......

 

Week 1

The fireworks from our front porch being set off down on the beach.

Not quite PL style, but a 12x12 to back the page above.





 

 

Week 2

I had quite a collection of old MME 4x6 transparencies (and I mean *old* - like 2005-6 etc!) and how perfect they are for PL!  I must have had an inkling way back then *wink*, because they are soooooooo useful now!   If I see them..... I'll buy them!   Not great to photograph though - that darned reflection (rolling eyes)... but in the album - fabulous!

Below -scrappy day with my gf, we have this 'round robin' going with three of us, though one gf is missing for this day. LOL, cant see much scrapping going on though! hee hee. 

 Paige off for leadership role at camp and my BIL and niece's birthdays.

 

 

Week 3

Hannah's birthday and another scrappy get-together!

I'm getting called right now, 'Mum when will you be finished on your computer?' 

We have to go 'ball dress' hunting for Paige...

 Its a cocktail dress evening, so a-shopping-we-shall-go....

Should be fun!

Happy Easter 2014!

 

 

 

HAPPY EASTER!!

 

We've had our lovely Easter morning and our Easter breakfast tradition continues....

 

 

 

This year the colour scheme was blue and white....

I found this lovely chook cage in a reject shop... and in went some shredded book pages and a lovely posie of flowers...all wrapped in a white bow.

 

 

All hidden behind these doors so the family cant see in!

It's a Easter morning surprise!

 

 

Here they come!

 

Ready to come into the dining room!

Finding some warm cosy fleecy pj's on their seats....
Couldn't resist buying these... so ended up an Easter gift!

The hunt is on....doesn't matter how old they are!!!

 YUM!  dh went out and got some fresh hot cross buns early this morning!

 

After breakfast had finished....

and not to be missing out on attention....

Maggie flew in!

All done and dusted with fun and laughter for another year

LET'S GET SHABBY

Challenge #53

This is a little album I've had for years and finally painted it white, covered it and got it ready to add pics from our coming Easter.

 

 

 

I'm looking forward to Easter!

It will be a welcome time off with the family...

and soon it will time to think about what plans I have for my Easter Breakfast table!

 

 

I've been very sadly missing action lately.

But work has been so busy and at the moment I'm choreographing for 'Oklahoma!' a musical theatre production.

I've barely had time to do any scrapping and tiredness is an unwanted friend.

 

With opening night this Friday and the incessant rehearsing finally finishing - things should settle down.   This production has been in rehearsal since last September so its a long road to the finish line.

 

Bring on Easter!
