Get Creative Cards, Our Beautiful World and a Little More Sketching....

I feel like I'm on a 'Card Binge'!  LOL and it's quite addictive!

Here's some more from the fabulous inspiration from
with their 'month of card making'
It does give me a feeling I could get a bit better at card making (smile)
 I'm definitely 'hit and miss'!

This was a bit of fun, as I haven't made an ATC for a long time!
I've made mine out of a ATC sized piece of acetate with a sprinkling of  glued on 'Shaved Ice Glitter' and sequins in white to represent 'Snow'  (its really hard to photograph transparencies!)

------------------------------

I had a lovely little Heidi Swap set of hearts that I've had forever!
It was really nice to be prompted to use them.  Once set in place on the card, gold paint was swiped down the cardstock, pulled off and dried, added a little pink and gold dotty frame over the top, and embellished.  And I've used my Counterfeit Kits here with the gold

---------------------------------------------

Using embossed cardstock, I've rubbed my finger into the inkpad and swiped it gently over the raised embossed areas of the cardstock with pink for the flower petals and green for foliage.  Some green glitter is glued to represent the stamens of the flowers and a bow to embellish...

-------------------------------------------

A little kite stitched on

Still have some more to do, just hoping I get some time!

is
LOVE

Sisterly Love...
This photo is so precious.... we went to pick up Paige from the airport who has been away in France, and she flew into Hannah's open arms as she entered the terminal...
There were tears, they missed each other.
It's not the greatest pic in the blurry-ness... but it represents the prompt far more...
Wish the random guy in the background wasn't there..
 LOL.. nevermind.... ever the scrapbooker!
(guess it would have been weird if I'd waved him to move sideways a bit hee hee!)

So thrilled to see that Paige's  'Chill' photo got picked as the favourite for last week's prompt!!
Total fabby!

----------------------

And trying to get that sketch of the Nest finished....
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, its still not, but its on its way...
(Here's were it started)
Here's how its looking after another Art Room session....
(I have a different perspective of the nest from where I sit to draw than the camera has here)

Got inspired by adding some leaves.... still got to add more yet and finish the detail...
Love pastel pencils!

-----------------------------------------------------

is having a month of making cards.
I've made a start with four of the cards.... (keep in mind, I'm no cardie, but do love to have a go!)
The girls on the dt there have set each card challenge....

Irini's Challenge
Create with three layers or more...

Use a girlish image...

Use water-soluble colours to colour the card
Lots of drippage in two colours... and 3d stars

Use a banner on card....
I used little buttons threaded together ....

There lol.... going to Scrappy Camp and a crop day with friends helped the mojo and get heaps done!!

--------------------------------------------------------------

CHILL

Paige took this photo when we visited Cradle Mountain in July... and really represents 'chill' with the slow melting of the roof ice - drip, drip, drip.....
Even though this was in Winter,  here in Spring in Tasmania, there are still snow dumps!
Just this weekend, Mount Wellington hit minus 6C with snow.

Sketchbook 365 October Challenge

This is the first time I've played along with

Had some fun with masks and mists

Here's the sketch...

Recycled black tissue paper makes the frames, along with some little heart and round sequins.
The masking... that was fun.... you wouldn't believe what I used... will be revealed at end of post!
I mist with a pinky red almost the same colour of the chevron stripe, and then outlined the mask print so it looked like it was actually under the red chevron stripe.... figment of the eye!  Even mist over the part of the chipboard camera to extend the look of the mask.
Love my glitz rollers also... how fabby are those to use!

Black and white Glitz Design transparency backs the photo too.

Cut some butterflies out of what was left of the GD transparency with my Big Shot and inked the edges to give more definition.

Aaaah, the mask.....

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, its a broken bit off my peg basket that had gone brittle from being out on the clothesline in the weather, so I saved a bit before throwing the rest away....
Who would have thought!!! LOL>

I'll definitely be playing along again!

 And the prize is
Misc Me Album and Journal Pack Kit from our sponsor BoBunny.

How lucky!!!  It's just fabulous!

Project Life Weeks 32 & 33, and Our Beautiful World #15

Week 32
Its all about our French Exchange Student and introducing her to same wonderful Australian animals... she had a fabulous time, one she said she would never forget....

Week 33
Auditioning for Oklahoma!
Very nervous.. its always interesting to see both the girls approaches to nerves... Paige doesn't sit down, she paces and paces, she warms up her voice... growls about the wait and how it makes her feel.
Hannah on the other hand, sits, she reads through her music, she warms her voice a little, she goes silent....then when called, gets up and walks through the door to the waiting panel.... a few days later they got the phone call and were both successful!

-----------------------------------------------

'OCTOBER'

October is our second month of Spring!
Yesterday was the first time this Spring that I've seen butterflies out and about...
What a shot!!  Just as I'd been busy taking photos of this lovely butterfly, a bee flies into the frame and snap!  Got it!   Not only that....once I'd uploaded the photos to my computer... and picked this photo for OBW, editing.....there amongst the greenery and purple-ry (lol), almost easy to miss....is a little ant as well!!  (its a bit of a 'Where's Wally' - but its there!)  Who woulda thought!!  I got three different insects all busy gathering!  There were many butterflies and bees wandering over the vast cineraria bush area in my garden... they seem to all get along with no 'turf' wars LOL!

October is also our 'windy' month too and we have had our fair share of that....

grrrr....  it knocks the blossoms off trees and big fronds off our tall palm tree so it litters the front garden.  Most of the fronds are about 6-8 feet long. And they are spiky!

Then there's the 'four seasons in one day'!  sunny one minute - washing out on line, and pouring with rain the next.... dash out to bring it back in!

October is also  SCHOOL HOLIDAYS - yay!!
That's two weeks off for me - and they have been long-awaited!!

October also signals daylight savings..... turn the clocks forward..
I struggle with it....   So today is the first day.

----------------------------------------

Oh and where in France has Paige been........???
Having a blast!!!

She sooooo wanted mini-mouse ears!

She has also been to school.... and shocked at the 5pm finish with the school days...
very different to her finishing at 3pm here in Tassie!

Meaghan (big sister who lives in the UK) is catching up with her this weekend in Nice.

They will be so pleased to see each other!

Counterfeit Kit Challenges and Project Life Week 30 & 31

Love the kit this month to Counterfeit
is from
I really loved them all but went with the main kit...

So here's what I came up with....

Why the big kit?  Weeeell, I love to take a big kit and a heap of photos to crops and I have a crop weekend soon... that means plenty to choose from.  Its my answer to not having to get page kits ready when time poor.  It works a treat!    What I have left in last months kit will be coming with me too!
A problem solved!

Already I've used some of my kit for my for my Project Life Album
(very big smile!)

Week 30
It is so great for day to day stuff...  like grandma teaching Paige to cook her famous sausage rolls, and Paige having her leadership group of friends over for a craft afternoon.
And by accident, I found our old house (two houses ago) on the net for 'rent' ... we sold this house back in 2004, anyway, so printed the pics from the real estate to put in my album as a memory brought forward.

Week 31
My Winter Garden
Winter kind of takes care of the garden, and when things start happening - like bulbs waking up and sun shines on the shabbiness.... its time to be reminded of whats there and start looking forward to what Spring will bring...

Yay finally up to August with my Project Life....
When I go to my next weekend crop... I hope to really get this caught up!
