6th
Paiges 16th birthday - she always manages to have a page in the DDaily!




7th
This seems like an awful heading for a DDaily page, but - its a book/dvd series and a (older) teenage craze atm... and heavily discussed at Paiges birthday party. Weeeell it's whats being read etc in our house this Dec (heaven forbid- I think its just horribly awful !)and luckily its only one genre appreciated by my girls (phew) LOL I wont write my opinion of it in the DecDaily (but can certainly write it here) as I'm sure I'd be viewed as a 'dinosaur fuddy-duddy'!




8th
Lastly, Hannah and Paige had practice today - Christmas Carols Concert which they have a duet. I managed to sneak in at the end just in time to hear their song,(Angel's Carol) weeeeeeell - I was reduced to tears hearing their voices harmonise - I felt a bit silly, but no matter - was way full of pride ( and sneaked a pic through the tears hoping it wouldnt be blurry)

This LO was a bit of fun  created for SCRAP THERAPY with a bunch of stickers and diecuts with layering and didnt take long, probably the longest part was the placement    !

Just use a little watercolour pencil to give it some depth and definition along with these products:

I always love a scene with Santa Claus watching on! It creates an fun festive atmosphere

Heres the 3rd with Paige receiving a letter for a Year 10 award at Speech Night for her school

My yearly lino cuts.  Luckily my teacher had holly growing in her garden, so I sketched it and cut the

image out.  The prints will go on Christmas Cards.

December Daily - 1st and 2nd

 

 

Here's my first few pages! I'm using a up a lot of my Christmas stash I've had for ages. So its going to be all brands - whatever suits!

Day 1
(which is a double page as it was a biggy day and end to our production for the year, did blur out some names etc ) One side has flaps and the other side has one photo becoming a pocket and lots of little photos and a ticket etc poked into it. Paige was a 'Blossom' and 'Mr Lizard'



Here's extra detail on the first page (which is the other side of the cover - didnt want to waste space ) Hannah was Wardrobe Mistress and did a fabulous job




DAY 2
Last pic before Grandma goes home on the Bus (6 hours!) but she wont miss our production for the world!

A Christmas LO for Scrap Therapy

Here's a festive background using paints and stamps along with some diecuts to embellish...
Miss Maggie Mae!


The Tim Holtz Festive Greenery Die is just wonderful! I love the swirls, the leaves and the mix of shapes to create!


The stamp is Tim Holtz and is a leaf called 'Maple', the ones left in the shop are Oak and Birch both as gorgeous as the one I've used and they are such a great size!


The background paper is Carta Bella, Winter Fun Ice White
Paint has been sponged on lightly by opening the lid and applying to an sea sponge - its Ranger Dabber Red Pepper and a grey paint with the stamp over the top. Looks really messy here doesnt it!



Add the fabby Websters Trim (one of my favourite groups of trims!)
And arrange the diecut leaves and swirls .... all done!

Now with our production over, theatre packed up and sets and costumes stashed away...

I'm on holidays until mid February!!!

YAY!

How Exciting! My Card Won Day 3 of Prima 12 Days of Christmas Card Ideas!

 

 

An extra skip in my step today when I saw this card up on the Prima Blog as part of the winning cards!  I just never expected it as I'd seen some of the cards entered and they were extraordinary!

Just had to rush in and share the news....

I've got such a busy day ahead at the theatre for our production  is over by tonight and I'm on holidays until February and cannot wait...

Its been fun, and I've got quite a nice stash of cards now!

Here's my try at Steph's card - her's was so luxurious, and looking at my stash, did the best with what I had.

 I cut the bottom two layers out of  Prima Annalee 'Romance' #841812 and used an Annalee NoteCard #541989 to top it with.

Scrap Therapy

 

How about a bit of hidden journaling? I've used the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Range
I know I'm not much of a journal-er (is there such a word ), but thought I'd have a bit of a go at hidden journaling ,and this project somewhat grew from that thought!

And if you lift the photo flap..... (dont mind my finger ) Paper making up the flap is Christmas Cottage 'Music' and Christmas Cottage 'Tiny Flowers' reverse side.

 

Underneath on the background paper paper (Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Red Damask reverse side) you will find all the journaling. You could even add photos on the other side of the flap, but I'm yet to find the one I want out of my still packed boxes since the move to stick there (it'll turn up )

 

But thats not all..... .
If you lift the other full length flap (Christmas Cottage 'Red Snowflakes' Paper)......

 

 

 

........there's more room for photos/momentos etc

 

 

Now see that largeTeresa Collins Decorative Button in the image below? That holds it all together. And if you look at the image above..... there's a sticker covering the button stitching on the reverse side.




Here's how I did it...

Cut the corners out of 12x12 paper background paper and colour in the edges with black watercolour pencil (sorry about some of the paper colour differences in the photos - the earlier steps where taken late at night)

 

 

With water and a paintbrush, add to the black pencil edging so it 'watercolours', and cut a piece of contrasting(Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Red Snowflakes) paper to fit longways as in the image below

 

 

 

Put some fabulous Tim Holtz Tissue Tapedown both side of the long strip of contrasting paper and adhere to the background paper .This will form the 'file' part of the LO.

 

 

 

Double mount the photo onto the music and stripey paper and also 'hinge' the side down with Tim Holtz Tissue Tape

 

 

 

The rest is just adding embellishments both with the flaps open and closed
