HAPPY EASTER!!!!

We've just had the best Easter morning...

Lots of fun and laughter!

I managed to get this table together without much preparation this year...

Just a white tablecloth, and with a white and green  piece of gingham - pressed the raw edges under... and it acted as a fabulous centre cloth!  

I painted up this white hatbox a couple of Easters ago - so armed with new pale green trim and a bow, it fit the scene perfectly.   The bottles on top are from this months 'Let's Get Shabby' challenge, and one little bottle with Meaghan's photo in it - felt like she was kinda with us.  (will see her next week in Sydney!)

Planning My Breakfast Easter Table....

I've semi- sorted my Easter table for our usual breakfast surprise
This year it will be a white tablecloth with pale green gingham centre cloth I think.... I'm about to hop off here (pardon the pun!) and get started!

EASTER 2011
Here's last years, it was mauve and white.  The day before I got my flowers from the local florist... and they were just beautiful.  Bought my two little bunnies on ebay... I was sooo pleased with the way they turned out.   Easter breakfast is a big deal in our house.  Its where my family find their eggs and any treats and to find out what the table will look like (wink)

The surprise!  Hannah usually gets a book cos she's gluten and dairy free so
can be a little limited in what chocolate she can have.

and I always make them wear ears... they humour me LOL while I cook them a hot breakfast!

 

  I'm no where as organised as I usually am. sigh, way much going on here.  And I have to go to Sydney for a couple of weeks for work on Monday (plus eldest dd pictured on left in photo lives in London and she will be in Sydney at the same time... so lucky!  I've extended my trip for three extra nights so we can have some mum/daughter time!
ANYway, they love their breakfast morning surprises!

Lets see what memories we can make tomorrow!

Scrap Therapy April Room Challenge

This month's inspiration at SCRAP THERAPY is EASTER TABLE decor!!

(Its entirely up to you if you want to do Easter LO's or not )

Your challenge is to be inspired by each inspiration picture and scrap it! You can be inspired by anything in or about the picture
THe STAR winner and STANDOUT/S will be chosen on their scrapping interpretation, creativy and relevance to each picture
Make sure you put in your explanation in the gallery what inspired you.

You can enter more than one room, or all three for more chances!
However - no combining!! Each will be a separate LO for a separate room - be inspired by the colour and/or design; use specific elements or shapes if it takes your fancy, or even use it as a sketch for example!

Here are the 'rooms' with my interpretations under each of them (and some tips on how they were created if you are looking for ideas or new techniques to try )

Easter Table 1


I was inspired by the branches and the colour...


I really loved the paper of the cream at the top and little birds on branches....
but would have loved the bottom bit to be pink instead of blue, so started fussy cutting this Songbird 'Sunrise' Paper


And replaced the blue bit with this gorgeous pink paper


White washing over these ticket stamps inked in black soot can give a romantic look and soften the colour a bit. The leaves are goregous and velvet like


These gorgeous little stitched canvas banner pieces add a lovely element to the flower vine I even threaded the little banner with one of the stringy-wire vine pieces.

Added to the LO are the Chipboard pieces and cute little Butterflies

My inspiration came from the style of the chairs which I matched to the little resin windowsand the horizontal line of flowers, so used Camille , Lucerne , flower vine in a paler lemon and in a vertical sytle.


Can you see the sweet cream envelopein the vine... its one in a packet of vintage trinkets. And love this green background paper with its elegant white border

Also used are a teapot stamp seen peeking out from the left side of the photo, Chipboard Stickers, bird twill trim, and green lace. A mixture of alpha's are used Songbird Stickers which has a couple of different fonts on it.

Loved the colour and the vertical centrepiece feel of this pic, it also features nature too.
The blue background paper is Sunkiss 'Sun dried'


These are the little Resist Canvas Butterflies (sold out) but there are plenty of other Resist Canvas products you can do this same technique with... its fun! Pretty self explanatory!

There's a couple of colours of Maya Rd mists in the shop.






The vertical centre piece is made up of paint on the bird stamp and these fab little wooden buttons.

Added to the LO is the gorgeous green lace and cream measuring tape and black lace.

Get Creative Card Challenge and Scrap THerapy MME Weatherboard Papers

SCRAP THERAPY

Here's an array of the weatherboard papers and ways to use them from MME's 2012 release....

'On the Bright Side' has some fabulous coloured weatherboard-look papers.

Weatherboard LO #1

I've woven the diagonal RED paper into the horizontal BLUE paper - so fun! (weaving is getting a bit of a resurgence!) You might wonder why there is a 'chip' cut out of one of the red pieces - that happens when I cut out the middle of a 12x12 paper if I need a small bit but the photo covered this



The little banner is a diecut from an accessory sheet which as loads of useful bits on it! Making up the banner is Miss Caroline Twine and Black Lost&Found2 Buttons



The photo has a lovely transparency over it that gives a soft white doodle effect around the edges and some decorative brads

Weatherboard LO #2


Again, I've used this pink gingham paper (reverse side) in a previous project and had cut out the middle to use a little piece, so now I'm using the remainder as the background paper by covering up the hole with grey and white weatherboard paper


Cutting out the butterflies and long strips of the negative leftovers (from the middle ) of this butterfly paper forms a nice element to add to the LO too.


Slicing down the side of this Fiddlesticks Journal Card is another way of double-using a product. The numbers are attached to the side of the weatherboard papers and I'll use the rest of the journal card in another project probably butted up against a photo for example


Adding some banner stickers, cream cotton lace, paper clip, small tan and cream trim and , pale blue trim with brown glitter alpha and little red alpha to finish off.




Weatherboard LO #3
Weave the orange weatherboard paper with the grey wood
works well, and ink all edges with black ink


Adding stamping for some sort of background like a script stamp (not quite the same stamp as I've used but just as good) then over stamping with another more solid element gives an interesting additive to a page.


Finishing off with: ticket rubons, buttons, banner buttons and 'love to see you happy' sticker
