MME Sketch #32, Art Piasknownica

Been busy scrapping this week, very late at night when creativeness is buzzing.  Do you find you have a best part of the day/night to scrap? 

I love to put my project plan in place late at night - gather, make decisions, lay it out - and then in the morning look at it with fresh eyes, rearrange maybe - then stick down and photograph in the daylight.

Weeeeeell thats how it happens here (smile)

I've fallen in love with My Mind's Eye ever since the very first Lost and Found came out and pretty much everything  released since then - I've loved.  And the new CHA ranges are no exception..

Anyway I went for a looksee at their blog and decided to jump in and do Challenge#32-Layout which you will find HERE

 

Here's how to create the little dresses:

Cut out a figure from a photo 

 Seperate by cutting the skirt away

Cut a skirt the same length but wider so it can be pleated

(Spray with water to soften the paper as MME paper is quite thick)

And then repace with the paper skirt all ready to go on the project.

Isnt this floral just super pretty!!  (Product list below)

Here are both the skirts close-up which are from the one double sided paper.

ART PIASKNOWICA

I've just started taking part, and boy is it challenging - in a good way.  It's pushing me to do things I never thought I would!

Graj w kolory #28

I made so many mistakes doing this piece.. everytime I got a shock with 'oh no', it just seemed to fix okay!  I must have done that (the oh no!) about a dozen times!

I loved the colour palette!
Though the mustard colour is a bit brighter 'yellow' on my computer than it is real life- grrrr

Recykling -glass

 Its about the use of any glass containers that lay around in your houses.

A jar, bottle or an old chipped drinking glass - all that can be refreshened and changed for further use. In a nutshell - the challenge is to upcycle some glass

 This was a reject vase and I love the shape of it

So with some glass paint - it was going to get a new lease of life!

The outline is now finished (this is the first time I've ever done glass painting!)

 And all coloured and finished.  I think it has a kind of  Japanese feel to it?

Every angle of the vase shows a new perspective

Scrap Therapy MME LO

This Month I'm playing with MME products for Scrap Therapy...

There's quite a mix of the ranges in this LO....

Here's how the flower is created...

Drop ink from a glass dropper, I try to do two drops one immediately after another from a height so it gives a 'splash' effect, then hold the paper vertical so the drip runs down the page (I'm using 7 Gypsies Couleur Wash)



Then draw petals right around the splash



Scalpel out the petals just over halfway to the splash, enough to slip the photo under...



And then do the same with the rest of the petals


So it gives the page a little 3D

Creating Between Chores..

It most definitely has been 'do a bit here' and and  'do a bit there'  in between answering phones, washing, bookwork (for work) and the kid's 'stuff'.

Kind of in a way its a good thing because each time I return to my scrapping desk I see what's in front of me with 'fresh eyes'.    The bad thing is the constant interuption of creative thought - and the 'fresh eyes' seem to be getting so fresh that I rearrange more! 

Even so, I finally got to the end result (rolling eyes) - just felt like ages!

12/12 PROJEKT - January

Here's my first page - a small mini-album. 

Hannah had been performing in a musical with rehearsal taking many many months that Paige really felt her absence.  This was the very first weekend they spent together after the season had finished.  We are very lucky that they are so close. 

It was a joy to scrap this little page.

I used watercolour paints and stamping behind the photo.  And some punched out hearts with a little Prima mushroom.

I've seen the new Prima Fairy Belle by Jodie Lee and delighted with these gorgeous ballet papers as they are hard to find. I will definitely be getting these as soon as I can!

Art Piaskownica

I thought I'd have a go at Art Piaskownica - the challenges are amazing and the talent of the dt is incredible.   This is for their Card Lift #27..

 And it was Paige's first day at school for Yr 10 today, and I'd forgotten to take a pic of her at home before school, so when I picked her up and she'd gotten into the car, I whipped out the camera and she gave  that  'Seriously Mum???  Here???' look... priceless I reckon!

Regardless, Paige loved being back at school and said it was a 'Wicked day'!

Her chatter was incessant on the way home about every aspect of her day including  which awesome teachers she has this year and so and so said this and so and so said that... 

She's happy.

When I took this pic of Paige while we were away holidays it reminded me of that song...

 its Hannah's first day back at school, and since its for Yr 12, its the last time she'll ever have that first day at her school again.  So a photo was definitely warranted....

As you can see - my assignment this month is using

Each of the DT are using a 'Best of 2011' with a brand each for February.

I'm so impressed with MME this past year, and with whats being released at the Winter CHA 2012.
