Funkie Junkie and Cat Lover's Hop

I felt so inspired to get some festive projects done.
Here's my Week 2 tag
My inspiration was of course the deer.
I love deers!!!   The bow and seambinding.
The sentiment on foam to 3d it, the red trim,  the little bit of stamping
And the abstract way the 'trees' are hinted at in the background
with the chevron points iykwim.
A simple little double page for Blackie's 4x4 album
Here Blackie is a few months after he arrived, been to the vet and had every needle, worming and antibiotic imaginable .. and with some weight on finally
Day 3 Challenge was to mention the first cat you ever remember owning.
Isnt if funny how you never think of these things.... but deep deep down,
I had a memory, even a memory of the photos I'd seen with me as a little girl 3 or 4yrs
with Tuppence (Tuppy) in my arms.  She was a little grey tabby, the runt of the litter.
I cant remember whatever became of her in the end - only that my parents used to say 'gone to be very happy in cat heaven' sparing the details.
This has had me searching for photos, so many on discs! back in 2004 on, evidence of owning my very first 'digital' camera!!!  Before that - the photos were very hit and miss!!
Yes, I'll be using some of those in my album... not much to go on, but it will be something!
ps:  and thanks so much for the wonderful visits from the Cat Lover's Hop... will be commenting soon!   I totally love your stories!!

What a great layout... he looks like a panther in that pic! Now that I read the story, I do remember the tale of how you found him at just the right time and his long journey to warming up to you. So sweet! (USA - dcomer1 gmail)

Lucky for Blackie you heard his meow. Cats always know when they found the right place to live (meaning the purr-fect sucker to keep them in style)!

Your Blackie LO is gorgeous! He is a beautiful boy! I enjoyed reading your journalling - Blackie is very lucky! But then again so are you - he sounds like such a loving kitty. This is a wonderful keepsake. Can't wait to see more pages.

I love a good cat rescue story and Blackie is so lucky to have found your family. My Bailey was a feral kitten who never quite settled in as a tame kitty, but he was my special boy and we had a close bond. He was always fine with me, but only if he was at waist height or higher!

Wow, Tag #2 is fantastic. The muted vintage background with that big pop of red and white is so powerful. LOVE the red plaid deer and especially that cool stitching that you did. And I'm always a sucker for red seam binding bows. Great job! So glad to see you back for week #2.

LOOOOOVE that deer...the gingham. Classic! And of course, your Cat tale. How fascinating to have that memory. I got my first tabby cat at 9 yrs old. A birthday present so my Mother couldn't say no. LOL!! I STILL remember the look of HORROR on her face....& it was her BF who 'shafted' her, too:):) Frosty was LOVELY;)!!!! Of course, I ended up going off to Boarding school & she ended up loving Frosty in lieu of me, I think!

Mandy...I never get tired of reading about your experiences with Blackie. He is such a special kitty and I think all of us at the Hop feel a special kinship to him because of your heartfelt tales of finding him. I shudder thinking about what could have been. I love reading how patiently you have built trust and love between him and you. That is so true of these ferals.

I don't think I will ever get close to Big Bad Black, but our little Alexander has come a long way since last Hop. He is still nervous of eyes looking at him, but if I avert my gaze he almost always will come over to be petted while he purrs and purrs. My son can pet him now, also...but not vet hubby. Nope. lol...

I love seeing your kitty journal developing this week. What a wonderful keepsake!!! The photos are beautiful.

Thank you so much for participating in the 2016 Cat Lovers Hop!!!
