Miss Maggie May.....

My gentle little Cockatiel

flew away last Monday night...

I opened the back door and from no-where she flew straight out over my head and gone!

Heart-broken...

And with all the rehearsal/production going on - it was almost too much

I rang the RSPCA and they took details, had an ad in the paper all week, put her cage outside with the door open, just in case (she was used to flying in and out of it) and went round the neighbourhood and parks calling (looking like a idiot) and nothing....

Miss Maggie has deformed feet, so I thought she'd not last long with a weak grasp. But she is a 'thinker'.  She has a little witty personality and is sassy - but she also loves to be cuddled and flies to people on command.

 AND TODAY - the RSPCA rang me one week later.... she has been down at the firestation for the last day of her freedom... entertaining all the firemen and they reluctantly took her to the RSPCA!  They said she flew down and landed on one of the firies shoulder and he carried her around with him.  They wanted to keep her but knew she must belong to someone because she was so well trained!  

She's so happy to be home,

And here she is..... home at last...and eating furiously!

We still cant believe it!
