SCRAPPY CAMP

I've spent the weekend away at Scrappy Camp and have done quite a few photos....
I'm uploading quickly into my challenges and showing a few LO's I managed to do.
I have a massive week at work this week ahead of me so will be scarce again... but just lets say exams exams exams...
enough to put nerves into anyone!!  I really have to run and not be on here at all!!

SCRAP-IT-LAH
The challenge is to scraplift one of the designers.   I loved a layout of Yaties that used a black and white photo, quite a few chipboard frames and the colour! So I picked up on the B&W photo, gorgeous colour and  chipboard.  The challenge is here
Paige on Parents Day at ballet a few weeks ago.

USA - SCRAPJACKED
Yes they are back!  And here's a natural shot of Hannah and I've loved scrapping it.
Lots of stitching in this one, some watercolour and nothing like a bit of paint!
Here's the challenge

MY FAVE THINGS-WHOOHOO AND IT WON!!!
We had to pick a fav poem - and this wasnt hard especially if you know the 'Miss Mischievous' Poem by Robert Service about 'Miss Dont-do-this' and 'Miss Dont-do-that'
Pretty much sums up Paige!  I've put a copy of the poem underneath this LO - as I'm sure you all know one!  Here's the challenge
 Miss Don't-do-this and Don't-do-that
has such a sunny smile
You cannot help but chuckle at
Her cuteness and her guile.
Her locks are silken floss of gold,
Her eyes are pansy blue:
Maybe of years to eighty old
The best is two.
Miss Don't-do-this and Don't-do-that
roguishness is fain;
To guard that laughter-loving brat
Is quite a strain;
But when she tires of prank and play
And says good-night,
I'm longing for another day
Of child delight.
Miss Don't-do-this and Don't-do-that
will grow up soon.
I hope she'll never throw her hat
athwart the moon.
Yet I'll be sorrowful indeed,
Remembering a day
Before she learned to humbly heed
The word OBEY.
 ROBERT SERVICE

SCRAP THAT POETRY- AND THIS WON TOO!! SO LUCKY!
And of course there is this challenge blog complete dedicated to poetry!  I love joining in.
Its about the poem 'First Day of School' by Eddie Garcia.  Find it here
This was my first day - and behind that smile for the camera... wasnt all joy!
I'm afraid that I didnt like school - but I smiled for my mum as she took this pic on the back steps of our house before walking down the street to school with my little doll in my hand for comfort.

SCRAPPERS ANONYMOUS
This is a brand now challege blog and their very first challenge is to use templates....
yes...its about using stuff we have forgotten about in our stash!  I thought 'I so need this!"
What a great idea.... I've used a journaling one with paint and then some dimentional magic.  And while I digging deep - I found other embellies I've used too!
These are my two girls with their cousin Sophie.

And I've quickly uploaded some LO's completed at scrappy camp too
(Yes I packed kits!!  - Worked a treat!)
Hannah jumping over rows in the Iris field
These LO's were all done for a great little challenge place called Challenge Masters

Hannah playing among the leaves when she was only two in the back garden
I painted some leaves and pressed them onto paper I'd painted in a dull gold and cut them out.
Worked a treat!  Dont you love that quote!

FAVE THINGS, SCRAPxSCRAP AND 'TALKING WITH WALLABIES'

We have arrived home from our little trip away!  We had some wonderful moments that I've captured on my camera and have shared at the end of this post!  Very worthy of scrapping!!

I've managed to catch up with a couple of challenges over the weekend
Its about your favourite scrappy manufacturer  and while I love a few... I guess Basic Grey is one that has stuck it through with me from the very very beginning of my scrapping journey and religiously still use.  My faves are background papers - mostly reverse sides - and the chip alphas!

The criteria over SCRAPxSCRAP #28 is fabulous!!!
I love a summer theme anytime of the year!!  I've used paints to gradually take the boarder out and beyond the picture.  I LOVE paint and any excuse to use it!  Even finger-painted a couple of seagulls!
I cut Hannah out of a photo of her in the sea and carefully placed her in the picture. Way too much fun!

-------------------------------------------------------

AND FROM OUR TRIP AWAY.....
The girls and I spent much time with Grandma and Grandpa

and while we were there...
Paige found herself trying to woo a little albino wallaby
It was blowing kisses back!
The non-verbal language is just amazing!
My girls have something about them when it comes to animals - some sort of instant trust.

Then this wonderful surprise...
Hannah held her hand out......(can you see a glimpse of a little joey)

She came close to check Hannah out.. and Hannah sat very still. The joey retreated into its pouch.

Soon she settled and Hannah was able to pat her... amazing!

Still not quite trusting enough to show Hannah her joey.

Then she sat up and showed her baby off!!
What a wonderful surprise and a gesture of trust.

Sooooo lucky to get this close.  Albino wallabies are rare.
and her little joey is furless.

We had a magical day!!

AUSSIE SCRAP JACK SURPRISE and a TUTORIAL

At last we are on holidays and the girls and I are away on a 4 day trip. We are staying in a gorgeous little convict built cottage in Hobart. Time to kick back and can catch up on uploading stuff to this blog!!

Paige last night in front of the open fire

AUSSIE SCRAPJACKED
So excited my Prima covered Tutu was Jacked along with two other wonderful jacks!!
Go check out what the DT did with the three jacks here

I created a mixture of all three jacks into one

Here's a little TUTORIAL of one of the dresses
STEP ONE
Cut out the skirt shape from music paper and crease

STEP TWO
Do the same for the underskirt (I've used handmade paper here)

STEP THREE
Glue skirts together and glue on the front of a waist band

STEP FOUR
Using a little rose petal as a bodice, glue to the inside of the band

STEP FIVE
Wrap around and glue the waistband to the back

STEP SIX
Using this little feather..... make the shoulder straps

STEP SEVEN
Loop the little feather to make some shoulder straps each side of the bodice
and adhere to the the back.

STEP EIGHT
Add some trim around the waist just to finish it off!!

CANDLE HOLDER
Re-purposed bottle
Covered the bottle with impasto and then pressed on a serviette napkin
Covered with impasto again
and wound twine with little beads around the bottle.
The impasto isnt quite dry here (but had to get away on our trip so photographed it straight away!)
