IT'S SO QUIET HERE!

The silence is almost deafening........and I LOVE it!! Paige has gone for a sleep-over and dh has taken Hannah to the cinema to see Avatar then out to dinner, and I'm at home (noooo its not my kind of movie !!) enjoying the peace and quiet and scrap and potter around!! Tooooo easy! We all have those!! LOL
52 SKETCHES
Weeell, this is the last sketch they will be doing, and I've really enjoyed it. There's actually supposed to be four square photos, but it just wouldnt work with what I have, so I did two longer photos. I just love doing beach LO's or anything beachy!! Now, I'm off to have my dinner and scrap a little more!!!

I had SUCH a hard time photographing the white background!!! Its not a great photo of the LO, but the best I could do - unfortunately it doesnt really show the real colour. (sigh)/

HOUSE IS EMPTY-TIME TO SCRAP!!!!

All our Christmas families have gone home and what a fab time we all had and the house is quiet once more.
Soooo what does one do???
Get stuck into the housework and tidy and clean it all tip top???
Nooooooo - fix the withdrawal symptoms first!!!
Then fix the house! Much more comfortable that way! LOL
TWISTED SKETCHES #29
Really loved the sketch - it definitely took my eye! The twist was to scrap in red or gold - though I think I did a bit of both. Paige waiting for everyone to sit down to start the giving out of presents!
52 SKETCHES#51

This might have been a little late getting uploaded over at 52 Sketches, as the last challenge for the year was being put up as I uploaded!....and forever by the looks as its finishing. Sad....just as I was starting to enjoy this site (new for me)! Anyway, here's Hannah also sitting waiting for everyone to sit and be ready for presents too!

ARTASTIC (and it won!! look here )

The inspiration for this month was Vermeer's 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' painting.
I felt this pic of Paige as 'Alice' suited the challenge! You can find the challenge here
I also used some yummy vintage goodies from the fabulous Ruby Street
and you should should check out the tease on Ruby Street's blog!!
Weeeell, I'm off to do some more scrapping to finish my night!
And the house....weeeeell - it will wait until tomorrow!

DECEMBER DAILY 2009

What fun and its definitely a tradition I cant wait to keep going!

MY first DECEMBER DAILYHere's the cover!!  I've used gesso on the cover, painted in gold and sanded it back a little. I've also use Dimensional Magic a lot on the lettering and embellishments.
Heehee - this creative process took me on 'journey' and back again!
I know I love this!

1st Dec - Advertising for 'Alice in Wonderland'
Paige as Alice'

2nd Dec - The program for 'Alice in Wonderland'

3th Dec - was the day I spotted a little baby bird in our front garden, it allowed me to photograph it
4th Dec- was bumping all the sets in the theate.....a tedious long drawn out affair! .

5th Dec - Pantomime production 'Alice in Wonderland'  Paige was Alice
and Hannah was the Caterpillar

Dec 6th- Paige's Birthday - She got an ipod touch!
7th Dec - My Page with chosen to be ScrapJacked by Lou Nelson - I was so stoked!

Dec 8th -We have a native tree call the Bottle Brush (for our internationals) and it blooms are out in full where I live in December. When I see our tree out in full colour it always reminds me of the traditional Christmas colours of green and red. This is a beautiful tree.

Dec 9th -This lovely sentence written on the blackboard was at the studio last week when I had a couple of senior students in for some extra class, (one is off to the Australian Ballet School in January for summer school) and this is what they left behind. Isnt it just so warming that 17-18yrs olds can feel they can do things like that - to leave a such an appreciated little note.

Dec 12- Paige's last violin concert.
Dec 13 - A remember a Christmas where we saved Blacky from certain death. And we still have him with us 7 yrs later.

.
Dec 14- Can you imagine - and look what my lens caught! - a little baby Sparrow with white on its wings and tail!! According to an experts - this what happens when fed bread! (oops)In comparison to my finches (Dec 15th) they're REALLY spoilt!
All wrapped up in cotton wool. Scrappy and Booky!!

. Dec 16th - TRIMMING THE TREE!!
.
Dec 17th- I painted the girls little lounge a bright green (its not as bright as the photo!!) and they love it - lol its called 'the green room'!! (it was called the toy room!) Its part of the old servants quarters of the house and both their bedrooms are off this room. Dec 18 We held ourselves a little Secret Santa over at Scrap Therapy and I got the most delightful parcel of lovelies!!!
.

Dec 19th - The place where the stockings will hang - its all ready!
Dec 20 - among friends and family, four family get together each year for festivities. Hannah and Paige opening presents!

GRABBING SOME SCRAPPING TIME.

I'm still playing catch-up with my December Daily...and I'll get there!! It's just working up for a busy time as you all know!!! Yesterday I even painted a room and am about to go do a second coat, so here I sit with my hands still with bits of remnants of a lovely green paint over them. I love green!! And lately its all I seem to be scrapping in too! But, in my defense, Christmas does bring the green out in me too! I've also restocked some of my background papers I love to use, so I hit ScrapTherapy for an order! My fave background papers are Basic Grey and Fancy Pants - mostly the reverse sides! Do you ever use cardstock?? I dont think I ever do - and not for a long time. Hmmn.
DECEMBER DAILY 5TH
6TH & 7TH BALLET PLAY (and it won!!!) This was a challenge over at Artistic Document It's the first time I've played over there. Dont you just love this Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper!! This is my little Hannah - a costume fitting! She thought she was a princess!

52 SKETCHES, A LOVELY RAK, DECEMBER DAILY, METHOD PLAYGROUND & THEATRE CHALLENGES

Lots going on here over the last few days!! And loving it!!
52 SKETCHES.....52 WEEKSJust found this challenge blog! Loved the sketch - so it inspired me pretty much straight away...and reached for the paint brushes!!! Even the green framing around the photo is green paint. I had to do a LO on Paige who is CONSTANTLY got the phone tied up from the calls she gets! (No she doesnt have a mobile- we'd never see her if she did!) LOOK AT THIS PRETTY LITTLE HOUSE!!! Beccym sent me this stunner just because...isnt it the most delightful little creation!! I had to dress it up with my santas!!! Thanks so much beccy!! I cant stop looking at it!!! MY DECEMBER DAILYHere's the cover!! I've only just started and got a couple of pages done, but will try to get more done in the next few days!!! I've used gesso on the cover, painted in gold and sanded it back a little. I've also use Dimensional Magic a lot on the lettering and embellishments. I was going to use a jump ring, different shaped pages sort of album like the one I got from WION, but somehow moved to this....however, the WION Dec Daily Kit and the Embellie Kit is winding up through my now album anyway..... heehee - that creative process of mine often takes me on 'journeys' and sometimes back again!!! But then again....thats what its all about!! HERE'S 1ST AND 2ND DECEMBER Dec 1st - the advert of 'Alice In Wonderland' appeared in the newspaper. (I've blanked out some of the personal details) 2nd Dec - the program was sent to the printers. METHODS PLAYGROUND#55 It's about negative space for this challenge! More paint being slapped around here! THEATRE CHALLENGE#11 Check out the challenge here.
Its about using masks and a song from 'Phantom of the Opera' - I did in a creative way - here are some of my dancers as 'goblins' in the forest wearing masks, and I've used the first words from the song 'Music of the Night' - it just suited it well!!!
The paper is Basic Grey Eerie collection - I coloured in the trees and grass bank black instead of leaving it purple. I've left the bats the original colour, scalpelled out the photo and painted some green-ish/grey grass on some paper, torn it off and stuck it along the bottom.
This Challenge blog needs players! Its a shame they might have to close it down for a while.
KIDDIELIT have extended their deadline too! Its a fab idea and lots of sun for a Challenge Blog...so if you have some time - go join some scrapping creativity and see what you can come up with!
